School is out, pools are open, the days are longer aka Summer is HERE!
Summer always brings a mixture of excitement and challenges.

There is the joy of having a 3 month break from waking the kids up for school as well as the joy of the sunshine, warmer weather, patio dining, live music, and the pool season.
The joys of summer are energizing and fun, however there is also apprehension about changes in your routine, lack of ‘me’ time, busyness with summer sports, vacations, 4th of July parties, and the endless outings to the Zoo, Mitchell’s Ice Cream, and more.
The summer can feel hectic, chaotic and overly busy. It is easy to get sucked into the endless obligations and expectations that you have to run around soaking it all in so you don’t miss out. There is pressure to have fun, experience new adventures, entertain your kids, make memories and still meet the expectations of work, family and daily life.
It’s A LOT!
So how can you overcome these challenges of summer and have the best summer yet?
Fear not! I am here as your friendly guide, life coach and healer to share with you some tips and strategies that will help you navigate summer stressors and embrace the joys of this sunny season.
Let’s begin with INTENTION.
What are your intentions this summer?
Remember intentions are something you want or plan to do in your life and they help you focus on how you want to feel and who you want to become. Intentions are POWERFUL because they help you shift from passive participant to the conscious creator of your life.
Setting clear intentions for your summer will put you on a trajectory for your desired outcome versus being pushed around by the stressors of summer.
JOURNAL PROMPT: What are your summer intentions?
What does your ideal summer look like, feel like, sound like?
How do you spend your time this summer?
What activities do you want to do?
Who do you want to spend your time with this summer?
How do you want to show up to yourself and your family?
How do you want to feel this summer?
Take time to write out the answers to these questions.
The number one way to create what you want in life is to have clarity, a destination, a desired outcome that you are moving towards that is guiding your thoughts, feelings and actions to be in alignment with that desired outcome.
PRIORITIZE YOUR INTENTIONS
In order to avoid FOMO (fear of missing out) it is important that you make a summer bucket list of experiences that you would like to have. The summer goes so fast and one way not to get swept up in endless obligations and expectations is to prioritize your intentions first. In order to uncover what your priorities are it is helpful to start with a bucket list of all the things you would like to do this summer. Complete the bucket list exercise below.
BUCKET LIST EXERCISE:
Step One: Make a list of all the things you want to do this summer. Feel free to use Pinterest, Facebook events, etc… as tools to help you gather ideas. BONUS TIP: Have your family members make a summer bucket list as well, especially your children.

Step Two: Review your list and circle the most important experiences that you want to have this summer. (If you have a large family perhaps each person chooses their top choice) |

Step Three: Schedule your circled experiences on the calendar to guarantee that you will not miss out on the things you really wanted to do this summer. SCHEDULE YOU FIRST.
Step Four: Preparation. Just like you meal prep on Sunday for your week you can summer prep on Sunday to help plan your week based on your bucket list, the weather etc… Summer success is about being flexible, adaptable, spontaneous and going with the flow. What I love about a bucket list is you never have to scramble or worry about what to do because you have a list of possibilities waiting for you. |
Step one of summer success is setting intentions and getting clarity about who you want to be this summer and how you want to spend your time.
Get clear on your summer bucket list and immediately schedule these priorities to ensure you have the summer of your dreams.
I would love to hear what made the top of your summer bucket list. Be sure to reply to this email and let me know.
Now, just because you have clarity and intentions does not mitigate all the stressors of summer, so I have created a special offer to support you this summer season. |
